Lavish is an app for a luxurious night club. It was part of a design challenge series I decided to curate with the aim of showcasing my skills outside my 9-5 work.
Lavish Club wants to keep its customers more engaged and aware of the events at the club.
I conducted informal user interviews with a few people asking them how they would like to interact with a club if that option was available and that is how I arrived at the solution below. I also did a lot of internet research on how nightclubs work and how an app would be helpful to the members
I used Brandon Grotesque and Avenir for the app's typography and the colours black, white, gold and grey to achieve a modern, clean yet luxurious feeling.
Events page: Users/clubbers would be able to see upcoming events at the club
Ticket option: If the event is exclusive, users can get tickets from the app and just present them at the club entrance.
Drinks page: Users can see what drinks are available at the club as well as the price it is sold for at the club.
Profile: Users have their own profile and can access things like the club rules and membership details. Elite (Premium/VIP) members can also send song requests to the DJ.
Notification: Users get notified when the club is full and when exciting events are happening.
I learnt that documentation is important and should be done properly no matter how little. I didn't document my user interviews as I should. I also learnt to think in user flows. That is, asking yourself what happens before/after an action is taken. I believe that if I had done this, I would have designed a more robust solution.
