CREATE by Hingees is more than just a pack of notepads. Whether you prefer lined, dotted, or plain pages, each notepad is a powerful tool that helps you bring your ideas to life.
For the second edition, I collaborated with Hingees to design three different covers drawing inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of Nigerian culture. Each design captures the essence of our diverse heritage, celebrating Nature, Art, and the enchanting sounds that surround us.
When I first got the brief, I thought hard about the CREATE story, what it means to create, how we can inspire people to create, and something we all share.
For some of us to create, we need to forget our worries and block out distractions. Fortunately, music helps us do that. The Traditional Nigerian Instruments are not just a part of our history and culture but they also show and remind us of the music we love.
Pottery is one of the oldest and most accessible art and craft forms practised across different age groups almost everywhere in Nigeria, and for that, I think it is worth highlighting.
Finally, I believe the most important thing required to create is YOU. Did you know that Nigeria actually has a National flower? Looking at Nigeria through the lens of my love for nature helped me discover this fact plus its in my favourite colour. Sometimes, looking into ourselves helps us see what we have and might be missing.
